Yin Yoga

Yin yoga is a slower-paced, more meditative style of yoga that targets the connective tissues of the body- the ligaments, bones, joints, and fascia. Moderate pressure is applied through seated and supine postures that are held passively for longer periods of time (3-5 minutes), to strengthen and regrow these tissues with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. Some other benefits include increased range of motion, cleansing of internal organs, and calming of the mind and nervous system. It is a perfect complement to the more dynamic (yang) styles of yoga and is suitable for all levels.
